Role Description The Housekeeping Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Madurai. This role is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations in patient areas, wards, outpatient zones, and common spaces to maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control. The Housekeeping Supervisor assigns tasks, monitors staff performance, inspects rooms and public areas, and ensures adherence to hospital hygiene protocols and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include coordinating laundry services, managing cleaning supplies and equipment, handling basic maintenance requests related to housekeeping, and preparing routine reports on cleanliness and quality checks. The role also involves responding to patient and visitor feedback, coordinating with nursing and administrative teams, and training housekeeping staff on proper procedures and service standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills to manage housekeeping staff, schedule shifts, and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
Candidates should possess housekeeping expertise, including knowledge of cleaning procedures, infection control practices, and safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Candidates should possess laundry-related skills, including oversight of linen handling, washing, drying, and distribution processes in a healthcare environment.
Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and colleagues, and address concerns promptly and respectfully.
Relevant experience in hospital or healthcare housekeeping supervision is highly beneficial; familiarity with quality standards such as NABH or similar is an advantage.
A diploma or certification in hospitality, facility management, or a related field is preferred; basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, reporting) is beneficial.
Ability to work flexible hours, stand and walk for extended periods, and handle fast-paced, high-demand situations while maintaining attention to detail.
