Role Description The PYP Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based at the Tiruchirappalli campus. The individual in this role will lead and manage the implementation of the IB Primary Years Programme, ensuring alignment with IB standards and practices across all primary grade levels. Typical responsibilities include collaborating with teachers to design and review units of inquiry, mentoring educators on PYP pedagogy, and coordinating curriculum planning and documentation. The PYP Coordinator will organize professional development, facilitate regular team meetings, and support the integration of transdisciplinary learning, assessment strategies, and student agency in the classroom. Additional duties include liaising with school leadership and the IB organization, ensuring timely communication, compliance with IB requirements, and effective engagement with families regarding the PYP philosophy and practices.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with the IB Primary Years Programme, including curriculum planning, assessment, and inquiry-based teaching.
Strong instructional leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and support teachers in implementing student-centered, concept-driven learning.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with students, staff, families, and external education partners.
Organizational and project management skills for coordinating curriculum reviews, professional development, and IB documentation and reporting.
Background in primary or elementary education, with a bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced qualifications or IB training are an advantage.
Commitment to holistic development, inclusivity, and value-based education in a multicultural, global learning environment.
Prior experience in international or multi-curriculum schools (CBSE/IB/Cambridge) is preferred.
