Role Description CHIEF ENGINEER – CONSTRUCTION
Experience:
● 25+ years of relevant experience in major construction/infrastructure
projects
● Proven experience as Project Head / Project Lead / Chief Engineer on a
major infrastructure project of 12 lakh sq.ft. or more
● Demonstrated experience in independently leading large project teams and
coordinating multiple contractors and specialist agencies.
Role Purpose
MAMAT is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer – Construction to lead the planning, execution and delivery of a major, landmark cultural infrastructure project at Mahabalipuram.
This is a senior project leadership position for an accomplished Civil Engineer with strong experience as a Project Head / Project Lead of major infrastructure projects exceeding 12 lakh sq.ft.
Experience in large-scale stone construction, monument / heritage projects, cultural or institutional projects will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of construction activities across the project.
• Act as the senior construction lead for project execution, coordinating contractors, consultants, specialist agencies and site teams.
• Prepare and manage master construction programmes, detailed execution schedules and resource plans.
• Lead preparation of tender documentation, technical specifications, BOQs, scope of work and construction packages.
• Manage and coordinate multiple civil and construction contractors.
• Plan and control manpower, materials, equipment, logistics and construction resources.
• Monitor project progress, productivity, quality, cost and key construction milestones.
• Lead execution of major earthwork, foundation, structural, civil and external development works.
• Provide construction leadership for the Monument and large-scale stone
construction, including stone logistics, fabrication, handling, lifting and erection.
• Establish and maintain construction QA/QC, inspection and testing systems.
• Review contractor methodologies, method statements, construction programmes and technical submissions.
• Coordinate site surveys, setting-out and dimensional control.
• Identify construction risks, constraints and delays and implement appropriate recovery measures.
• Ensure safe, efficient and high-quality construction in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate with the Project Architect for implementation of approved design and construction information.
