We build ApexStream, a browser-based live-streaming platform, and Carmic Pro, an AI-assisted video editing platform that turns long recordings into short clips.
We’re hiring a hands-on Technical Lead to help develop both products and guide our development team. You’ll write and review code, make technical decisions, solve problems, and take responsibility for delivering features that work reliably for customers.
What you’ll do
- Take ownership of the existing applications, understand how they work, and identify areas that need improvement.
- Build and maintain features across the user interface, backend services, and databases.
- Lead features from planning and development through testing, release, and ongoing support.
- Review code, investigate bugs, and improve application performance, security, and reliability.
- Guide developers through clear feedback, code reviews, and practical problem-solving.
- Plan achievable work, communicate progress, and raise issues early.
- Work closely with the founder and explain technical choices in clear, everyday language.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on full-stack development.
- Strong practical experience with Python and React.js.
- Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience connecting applications to databases and external services.
- Experience taking software through testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Confidence working with existing code, diagnosing problems, and making improvements.
- Experience leading technical work, reviewing code, and mentoring developers.
- Good communication and the ability to take responsibility for work from start to finish.
Useful additional experience
- TypeScript, Next.js, and Node.js—technologies used across our products.
- Cloud hosting, Linux, automated testing, and release processes.
- Video processing, live streaming, background processing, or AI integrations.
