Role Description The Steel Detailer will be responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings and fabrication plans for steel structures in accordance with engineering designs and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural and structural drawings, developing accurate 2D/3D steel detailing models, coordinating with engineers and project managers to resolve design issues, and ensuring that all details meet relevant codes and standards. The role also involves preparing material lists, checking dimensions and connections, and collaborating with fabrication and site teams to support smooth construction workflows. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nagercoil, requiring regular interaction with the local project and engineering teams.
Qualifications

Strong proficiency in steel detailing and steel structures, with the ability to create precise fabrication details and connection layouts.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and structural engineering plans and translate them into clear shop drawings.
Experience preparing shop drawings and reinforcement (rebar) details for structural components.
Familiarity with industry-standard detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar) and general CAD drafting tools.
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Strong analytical and visualization skills, with high attention to dimensional accuracy and constructability.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, contractors, and fabrication teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain organized documentation and revision control.
